Hemsby Lifeboat day, Sunday, 9 August 2009. A tradition family event with fun for everyone of every age, on the beach in front of the Lifeboat Station. Come out and enjoy the day and see the displays and activities. See your there!

Herring Festival on the Beach, Sunday, 30 August 2009. A tradition since the Hembsy Lifeboat station started and people come for miles to savour the unique taste. In times gone by the local vicar would come down to the beach and bless the first catch of Herring at the start of the season. To commemorate this tradition we have marked this day as the 'Herring Festival' where Herring is cooked on the beach in the old traditional way, rolled oats cooked in beef dripping.

Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival, Saturday 5 September 2009. Because of the fondness for Herring cooked the old fashioned way Great Yarmouth have again invited the Hemsby Lifeboat Crew to cook at their famous Maritime Festival. We hope to see you there and try our popular Herring dish.
